My baby Boy!

Just entering Vizcaya...I would have loved to been here before it was turned into a museum.

We weren't suppose to take any pictures inside...but when I got to the kitchen my finger just slipped on the shutter!

I guess this is what they call semi-shade

This was the outdoor/indoor pool...supposedly back then the women did not want to get any sun so they stayed inside....

I would love to have been around this house when it was fully occupied...it needed over 30 servants to maintain it.
Posted by Picasa
...that must be the owner of the house....she looks stoned!

Kerri was moving out of south Florida in a few days so we played tourist...

These are the gardens outside of the main house....

....you may notice some white opaque spots on the shots.....no they are not the ghosts of Vizcaya...they are the imprint of Kiko's nose from the night before...some of the pictures are down this blog a bit...

We started by finishing last week's caramel cheesecake!
Posted by Picasa
We skewered (spelling?) the shrimp and brushed with a citrus glaze...by the way, ALWAYS buy your shrimp de-veined...these were on sale and not worth the extra time to devein and peel, even though they were wild and 'born in the USA'...

An interesting concoction of pureed peas (just for you Rexx!), sun dried tomato, garlic, spices and grated parmessan....good, but missing something crunchy...maybe almonds.

One's pets should be color co-ordinated...don't you think?

Grilled citrus shrimp salad...

...on food network they suggested grilling the lime and finishing off the salad with a squeeze of it....NOT...it was good EXCEPT for the lime at the end

It's not easy getting shots of a moving 5 month old!

Our new sous chef.....

...we expect EVERYBODY to help assemble the ingredients...mise en place....
Posted by Picasa
Stacey threw this simple salad together which included and very good turkey bacon..
Posted by Picasa
Assembling the different components to our chicken dish... ...this sausage was really different...turkey meat with artichoke and sun dried tomato... ...we briefly sauteed the chicken as it finished cooking in the sauce that included all of the above with a tomato sauce base.
