These horns...

were pretty impressive looking and all we did was wrap sugar ice cream cones in tin foil and wrap strips of pasty dough around them and bake and fill...please don't tell anyone how easy this was!

..Kari, very carefully surrounds the flan with water, a bain marie....they would not cook evenly without this addition.

I know, I know, the shrimp look awfully crowded in this pan...but it made for a great base when we deglazed the pan for the sauce...

Spicy Shrimp (buy them de-veined, at least, not worth the time even if they are on sale) over a savory flan flavored with corn and feta cheese.

Aimie and I had never cooked with celery root before...we peeled the damn thing...what a chore...shredded and made a garlic aioli with it...suprisingly good!....maybe not quite worth the effort though...

This was a great salad...the peppery arugula, sweet grape tomato, cool cucumber with creamy avocado in a lemony dressing...Andrea I need the recipe for the dressing....I loved this salad!

Tonight's entree was a quite complicated Mexican dish, ham, spinach and carrots rolled with sirloin in a heavenly sauce...
